Car has been used for limited club day circuit work, though none since new engine fitted. This car has been considerably modified, though basic form and function remain. All significant work carried out by professional workshops.
Engine – Engine/clutch was built to be streetable, with excellent throttle response and a wide torque curve. For when things get serious, engine build was designed to take up to 200hp nitrous, but this has never been fitted. New 331ci stroker engine fitted late 2012. Run in kms only (less than 1000). Block is original, matching number item cleaned, new stainless and brass welsh plugs fitted and bored/honed for 4.030” bore. Fitted with DSS Racing SX Series forged flat top pistons with 1.25” compression height, 0.912” pin on DSS 5.315” 5140 forged I beam rods including ARP Wav-Loc rod bolts. DSS racing 3.250” stroke nodular iron crankshaft for approximately 331 cubic inch capacity. Race quality rod and main bearings fitted. DSS stroker Main Support System (crank girdle) fitted with custom ARP main studs. New harmonic balancer. Rotating assembly balanced to Nascar spec. Melling high volume oil pump and custom ASR Club Circuit oil pan with baffles, trap doors and new oil pickup. Complete TrickFlow TFS-K514350370 top end kit including intake manifold, twisted wedge heads complete with valves, springs and retainers, cam, cast valve covers, timing chain kit, rockers, gasket kit and push rods. Ford Racing lifters, Precision Power 75mm throttle body and spacer, CNC Performance Mustang fuel rail kit, Ford Racing 30lb injectors, new water pump, radiator hoses, radiator header tank. Original radiator cleaned and tested. New air filter in the G&S cold air intake. Oil catch can fitted to vehicle sub-frame below battery. Di Phillipo Long tube stainless HPC coated extractors, high flow cats, and full stainless 3” exhaust system. AEM digital A/F gauge, MSD coils, new ignition leads and spark plugs. Engine ECU fitted with Moates Quarter Horse board allowing full adjustability of standard engine parameters. Walbro GSS342 high volume fuel pump.
Clutch – Mal Wood Automotive supplied Ace Option 2 sprung brass button paddle centre single plate clutch fitted and balanced with at the same time as the new engine (ie no track work).
Gearbox – Car was originally 4 Spd ESS auto. Now fitted with T56 6 speed manual (022 Series 2) purchased new from Mal Wood Automotive. Has ratios 2.66, 1.78, 1.30, 1.00, 0.8, 0.62 with 3.28 reverse. This is the closest ratio factory option available. Matching high torque starter.
Differential – Standard LSD fitted with 4.3:1 gears and reconditioned by Mal Wood Automotive
Brakes – Front has 362mm 2-piece vented rotors with aluminium centres and AP Racing 6 Piston calipers with DS3000 (track) and DS2500 (road) pads. Rear has 315mm one piece vented rotors with AP Racing 4 Piston calipers. Braided lines fitted throughout.
Suspension – Koni yellow adjustable shock absorbers and strut inserts with Kings Super Lows springs. Front camber kit fitted which allows up to 4 degrees negative camber.
Wheels and Tyres – Fitted with lightweight 18” wheels which fit correctly over the brake package. Fronts are 18×8.5”, Rears 18×9.5” Tyres are Falken 245/40R18 and 265/35R18 RT-615K ‘semi-slicks’. Wheels and tyres done less than 500km.
Interior – standard black/blue leather Series 2 TE50 interior based on the Fairmont Spec. Has 6 stack CD with premium sound option, proper VDO integrated satellite navigation, digital climate control etc. Condition of the interior is outstanding for age with only the driver’s seat and steering wheel showing any sign of wear. Factory FTE mats front and rear. Momo alloy pedals.
Exterior – Bumpers recently resprayed. Body is virtually dent and completely rust free. Car has always been stored inside.
